The Government’s First Home Loan Deposit Scheme is due to commence on 1 January, 2020. This is an exciting initiative for first home buyers. This will mean first home buyers with as little as a 5% deposit, will be able to access a home loan without the burden of needing to pay Lender’s Mortgage Insurance (LMI). On average it is expected that this will save the typical first home buyer around $10,000.
